Bean’s current approach in this Glogauair’s Online Residency emphasizes

mark-making, spontaneous brushstrokes, and emotional response to her subjects. In her recent  project, she investigates the intersection of technology, selfies, identity, examining how the digital image transforms personal perception. By reinterpreting the  selfie through painting and material transformation, she creates versions of the self that become abstracted and unrecognizable, revealing how identity can dissolve within the digital landscape.
